Wirefletcher
My last name is Fletcher, which means ‘arrowmaker’ and so I decided that a Fletcher who works with wire could feasibly be titled a wirefletcher - it just sounds cool to me!
I discovered a love for wire work after I started using it to make simple armatures for clay sculpting and it kinda spiralled from there, particularly when I figured out it is good physiotherapy for the post-chemo neuropathy in my hands and therefore an excellent medical excuse to buy a whole load of fun pliers and hammers and other toys… 🔨⚒⚙
As well as making loads of jewellery for myself and others, I have done a few bigger projects too. My favourite is the giant and quite frankly ridiculously-long Mohs scale necklace!
The most recent shiny toy is the awesome science gem I acquired, which is quite possibly the coolest thing I own and I’m currently playing around with that to see how I want to eventually set it.
I have also made a nice colour-wheel inspired necklace, as well as collecting the entire alphabet in gems so I can make acrostic necklaces spelling out secrets…
